I like to work with my hands and get creative from time to time. I like to make jewelry, food, desserts and anything that creates a unique challenge for me! My favorite things to make are jewelry, mostly necklaces and bracelets...
I love how beads go from a pile of scattered colors to wonderful pieces of art that I can wear. Making jewelry helps me de-stress and zone out for a while. I can just sit down and string beads and have a wonderful piece of jewelry at the end. A piece of work that I can say I did, something I was able to make. And food. Yes. Who doesn't love food? This summer we ventured into growing pickling cucumbers at my home. We ended up with a lot. I mean, A LOT of pickling cucumbers. So I made tons of pickles. They were absolutely amazing. Nothing like fresh pickles to go with your burgers in the summer! Can't wait for summer so I can make some more! Also, little hint... that leftover pickle juice? Try dipping your french fries in there. Yum!

Dessert and wine? Yes, please! But what kind of dessert? And what to do with those empty wine bottles?
For dessert, the picture above is of brownies I made in a mini muffin pan. I baked them, and when they were done and out of the over, I left them in the pan and immediately pushed rolo candies into each one. This made the rolos melt into the brownie. Sounding good? Well, it gets better. After the brownies cooled, I pried them out with a butter knife and put them on wax paper. Then I drizzled melted white chocolate over them... because who doesn't love chocolate? The white chocolate should set after a few minutes and they can be stored in a container... if you don't eat all of them right away.
So those empty wine bottles? Make them into decorations! Yes, they might be kind of cheesy, but I like the way the one in the picture above came out. The green of the bottle and the white lights give off a beautiful glow, and the label is glittery so it also adds to the effect at night. And it was fun to make!
